The file is a thin window around the live site. It does not keep its own todos. This copy is unsigned, so the first open may need a right-click and Open.
No release file is attached until someone builds it on a Mac and publishes Crocpot.dmg. After that, Download for Mac uses it. The stable address is the latest GitHub release. The repo is private, so that link needs a GitHub login unless MAC_APP_DOWNLOAD_URL points at a public file.
